Perspective – Trinity Sunday

I am here at the shores of Green Lake and I am looking for some perspective. So, here I am at the Tower Trail, hiking up these steps, climbing the tower to see all that I can see above. So, let's hike on up. Made it. made it to the top and now have perspective. Can see the buildings behind me of Green Lake Conference Center and see the lake and all the way across the lake. And if you did a 360 turn, you can see far. You can see more. You can see landmarks and other buildings in the distance. You can see

where you are at. And this is what perspective is. And this is what Paul gives us in Romans chapter 5 when he gives us a little bit of perspective about our having access in the grace of God to God's glory. And he says we can boast in that glory. But he says we don't only boast in that but we also boast in our sufferings because our sufferings produce perseverance and that perseverance produces character produces virtue. It produces the glory of God in us. And that perseverance and character produces hope and that is the great hope

that we have that we are loved by God and God's love is in access to us now. And so we live in that place with perspective. So whether we are down in the woods and can't see very far and our suffering is about all we can see ahead of us, Paul gives us this perspective. There's more. there is something further. God is doing something and there is something good to be participating in our sufferings even though they are not good to be participating in on this earth but God is producing something in us of hope and love.

And so today I hope you are feeling God's perspective of participating in his glory and his grace and his love.
